    Sustainable development is a concept that focuses on meeting the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It involves finding a balance between economic growth, social development, and environmental protection. The role of artificial intelligence (AI) in sustainable development is significant and can be seen in various aspects. It is important to ensure responsible and ethical AI deployment in sustainable development initiatives, including addressing biases, promoting transparency, and considering the social and ethical implications of AI systems.

    The main challenge in creating and implementing AI-enabled systems is not to create the best models and methods, but rather to support the entire lifecycle, starting with a business idea and continuing through data management, software development that manages both data and code, and project initiation and function. This special issue's purpose is to offer a forum for exchanging real-world insights and academic findings about the fresh problems that AI/data-science experts and software developers are dealing with in the creation of AI-enabled applications.
